Raji Singh is the North American Business Development Director for Newby Teas of London, an English luxury tea company. She studied International Relations and Comparative Cultures & Politics with a cognate in Business at Michigan State University. After graduating in 2014, she traveled to London to train with Newby Teas before bringing the brand to North America. In August of 2016, with strong encouragement from family and community, she set the Newby North American Headquarters in her hometown of East Lansing, MI. When she is not talking tea over endless amounts of cups of tea, she enjoys running, Indian dancing, or traveling the world. Grateful for the opportunities given by her community, she looks forward to giving back through tea experiences.

autoownersEileen Fhaner started working at Auto-Owners Insurance in July 1977 as a billing clerk.  Returned to college in the evenings, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 1983.  Progressed through accounting becoming an Assistant Vice President in 1993; Vice President in 1998; Senior Vice President in 2003; and Treasurer in 2005.  Eileen will be retiring August 1, 2017 after 40 years of service.  She has been married to her husband Jerry for 37 years and live on 11 acres near Potterville.  They enjoy the outdoors, love Michigan and all its seasons and cars.

Bryan Bogardus is executive vice president and chief operating officer of AF Group (Lansing, Mich.), leading the claims, service center, underwriting, marketing and communications functions.

Bogardus has 26 years of experience in the insurance industry and a proven track record of leading organizations through challenging economic conditions. As president of CompWest Insurance until 2016, he was responsible for establishing the strategies required to build a profitable, innovative business in the western territories.

Prior to this, Bogardus worked for SeaBright Insurance Company for four years in a variety of capacities, including senior resident vice president, Western Region; senior vice president, Underwriting Operations and senior vice president, Corporate Operations. Prior to joining SeaBright, Bryan worked for Safeco Insurance Company for 17 years in a variety of capacities including region underwriting manager, region sales manager, assistant vice president of workers’ compensation, and commercial division vice president.

Bogardus is a third generation insurance professional. His father was an independent insurance agent and his grandfather was an executive on the company side. Bogardus is married with two daughters. He and his wife participate in various fundraising efforts to support several charitable organizations with a particular interest in the Children’s Tumor Foundation and Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Bogardus earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Georgia, majoring in risk management and insurance.

Joseph Yang is currently the Director of Operations at the Boys & Girls Club of Lansing.  Born and raised right here in Lansing, Michigan, Joseph is first generation Hmong-American, and is the father of 3.

Joseph graduated from Everett High School in 2000, attended Michigan State University until 2003, where he graduated with a BA in Telecommunications and graduated from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2013 with his JD and in 2015 with his LLM in Insurance Law.

In 2004, Joseph returned to the south side of Lansing, to join the Boys & Girls Club of Lansing as the Educational Services Director.  A year later he was promoted to the Director of Operations, where he currently oversees Finance, Human Resources, and Technology.

Joseph opened his Solo practice in 2014, and focuses primarily on Criminal defense, and Estate Planning services.

Joseph is an active member in the local community.  He is currently the President of the Hmong American Community of Lansing, and sits on the committee that plans the annual Hmong Michigan New Year celebration.

Susan Maples leads a successful dental practice in Holt, MI.  She brings preventive and restorative dental expertise, a passion for mouth-body total health, a master’s degree in business/marketing, and 30+years of experience in private practice.  In 2012, Susan was named one of the top 25 women in dentistry and one of the top 8 innovators (“disruptors”) in dentistry, and recently received the Lucy Hobbs National Mentor Award.

She is the author of BlabberMouth!  77 Secrets Only Your Mouth Can Tell You To Live a Healthier, Happier, Sexier Life and the developer of the Hands-On Learning Lab and Self Screen.net.  Susan was also a co-investigator in an award winning diabetes research study in conjunction with Michigan State University Department of Endocrinology.

Danielle Robinson began her career at Jackson in May of 2006 to create the company’s first-ever Corporate Social Responsibility program. The Jackson National Community Fund and Jackson in Action were launched in 2007 and since that time, Jackson has awarded more than $22 million in grants and matching gifts to nonprofits across the US and increased its associate volunteer time from 1,200 hours annually to more than 30,000 hours in 2016. Jackson was named Most Outstanding Corporate Citizen by the Michigan Association of Fundraising Professionals in 2009, was one of the top five finalists for the Governor’s Service Award in 2010 and 2014 and has won numerous other industry and community awards since 2007. For the past three years, Jackson has been recognized with the U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award for the company’s more than 5,000 volunteer hours annually with Junior Achievement.

Robinson serves on the board of the Capital Region Community Foundation and is a member of the Council of Michigan Foundations and Central Michigan Public Relations Society of America. She volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys & Girls Club, Ele’s Place, Junior Achievement, Meals on Wheels, Mother Teresa House, Volunteers of America and the St. John’s Music Ministry. She graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications and specialization in public relations in May 2006. Before coming to Jackson, she worked with the Michigan Department of Education, The Rossman Group (now Truscott Rossman) and Marketing Resource Group. Robinson and her husband Ryan own a home in downtown Lansing and are both Michigan natives.
